Why we made the SkooCam Trigger Bar Replacement

The founder is a member of the local Squamish Search and Rescue team and he loves to create solutions to problems. The idea for the SkooCam after talking to a fellow search and rescue rope team member who also works at a local rock-climbing specialty shop. Perfectly good cams need to be replaced when the trigger bar breaks, which is expensive for our penny-pinching climbing friends. Plus, a complete waste of an otherwise still functional cam. The SkooCam trigger bar replacement is the cost effective and sustainable solution.

• We do recommend needle nose pilers, or tweezers can be helpful to get the trigger wires attached

Material

PETG (Polyethylene terephaphthalate Glycol), a thermoplastic material for 3D printing the SkooCam. PETG is one of the most popular filaments for 3D prints because it has high impact strength, durability , resistance to water intrusion and good printability offering excellent layer adhesion. PETG is a food-safe material and is recyclable.
